Do you wish to delete a post you shared from your timeline? Don’t know exactly how to get that done? Easy peasy! This post was put together to guide you on how to delete posts from your Timeline. We’ll even do you one better by showing you how to delete comments too!


Reasons for Deleting Posts from Your Timeline
You may sometimes find yourself fazed with the decision of having to delete a post you shared on your Timeline. The reason could stem from the inappropriate nature of it. Some posts may seem okay at the time of posting, but you realize that they are in fact not suitable to appear on your timeline.
On the other hand, you may plan on embarking on making friends with someone new and wouldn’t want them to see some of the stuff you’ve posted in the past. It’s a good thing posts can be deleted.
How to Delete Posts from Your Facebook Timeline
Whether you’re using a desktop or mobile device for “Facebooking”, it’s possible to get posts deleted from your Timeline. Steps to do so on either device are presented below. We’ll start with steps for mobile devices.
Deleting a Post from your Facebook Timeline
I. Mobile Devices

Open your Facebook application
Click the menu bar on the bottom right corner (iOS) or top right corner (Android)
Click your username. This will take you to your profile page. All your posts are here
Scroll down to find the post you want to delete
Click the ellipses (…) at the top right corner of the post. This will reveal several options
Select DeleteYou'll be give options again to go ahead and Delete Post, Edit Post or Cancel the process

Select Delete PostDoing this will remove the post from your profile, along with any likes, comments and media associated with it.

Deleting a post you shared on someone else’s Timeline
Note however that if you want to delete a post you shared on someone else’s Timeline, all you have to do is type the person’s name in the search bar, click on it and follow the steps stated above (from step four).
II. Desktop

Visit the Facebook website via https://www.facebook.com/ and enter your log in details
Click your name tag on the top left corner of the page
Scroll down to find the post you want to delete
Click on the downward facing arrow on the top right corner of the post’s section. This brings up a drop down menu
Select Delete On selecting “Delete”, you’ll be asked if you’re sure you want to delete the post.

Select Delete Post
And that’s the last you’ll see of that post. Now let’s look at how to delete comments.

How to Delete a Comment
I. On Mobile

Open your Facebook
Click the menu bar on the bottom right corner (iOS) or top right corner (Android). This will take
Click your username. This will take you to your profile page
Scroll down to find the comment you want to delete
Open the comment. Note, on Android you’ll have to tap and hold the comment
Select Delete from the options that pop-upYou’ll then be asked if you’re sure you want to permanently delete the comment from Facebook.

Click Delete
Deleting Someone else’s Post
To delete someone else’s post, you just have to type in the person’s name in the search bar, click on it and then follow the steps stated above (from step four).
II. On Desktop

Visit the Facebook website via https://www.facebook.com/ and supply your log in details
Click your name tag on the top left corner
Find the comment you want to delete. You may have to scroll down
Take your mouse to that comment area and you’ll notice a red “X” to the right of the comment
Click the “X”If you're deleting your own comment, clicking the pencil icon will prompt a drop-down menu wherein you'll need to click Delete again.

Click DeleteThis will remove the comment from the post.

Deleting someone else’s Post
If you instead wish to delete a comment you left on someone else's post, type that person's name into the search bar at the top of the page and then click their name. Follow the steps stated above (from step three).
